Mashishing Campus joined a soccer tournament league in September that aims to change the community of Mashishing and the Campus in Sports & Recreation. Mashishing Campus team is one of the leading teams as they played 14 games in 2020 with a great record of 9 wins and maintained draws in the other matches. The team is goal-driven and aims to achieve to end at the top of the tournament.
Mr Welcome Malusela is the top goal scorer in the tournament. Members of the community are willing to support the team. Mr Tommy Makuwe, the coach of the team, shared some of the aspects that helps the team to maintain their position in the tournament by saying that “they are disciplined, have a good working relationship among themselves, players are adapting easily to the sporting conditions and have a passion to work as a team’’.
The Vice-Captain, Mr Karabo Chiloane, commented on how to improve the team standard of playing, i.e. by practicing regularly and instilling confidence in what they are doing on the field. He also explained how the surrounding community are supporting their team, because they come and watch the tournament matches.
In conclusion, he said that the team is ready and has the strength and ability to win the tournament considering the resources they have and the time for practice available to them as a team.
