Ehlanzeni TVET College Welcomes Eskom for Site Visit to Measure Capacity Building for Renewable Energy
Ehlanzeni TVET College in Mpumalanga collaborates with Eskom on a project that targets the advancement of renewable energy studies. Eskom came to visit the college on March 27, 2025, in order to hold a site visit and ascertain the renewable energy capacity at the college under their Tertiary Education Support Programme (TESP). It is a monumental success to provide the college with the ability to impart industry-specified skills for renewable energy education to learners.

The visit focused on conducting a comprehensive gap assessment. This ensures that Ehlanzeni TVET College is well prepared to meet the growing demand for skilled personnel in the renewable energy industry. Main Goals of the Assessment
The Eskom led assessment is intended to address a number of primary renewable energy education and training concerns:
1. Curriculum Development
The curriculum will incorporate the latest industry technologies. This ensures that students are educated with up-to-date knowledge that meets industry standards.
2. Capacity Building of Lecturers
Workshops, seminars, and training programs will train teachers to enhance their capabilities. By empowering the faculty members with modern knowledge, it is expected that the level of teaching at renewable energy programs will be significantly increased.
