Counselling, wellness & academic support
Free, confidential support for your personal wellbeing and academic success, available at every campus.
Student wellness support, counselling and guidance
The service is available to every student at the college. All seven campuses have dedicated Student Support Officers and Career Guidance Officers.
All new students take a college readiness assessment, which helps identify gaps and the support needed to excel in your chosen field. Career resources are also available, and you can make an appointment with the Student Support Officer at your campus if you would like career counselling.
Personal counselling is part of the Student Support Services Unit's responsibility and is offered in strict confidence. It assists students facing crises, adjustments or challenges that affect their performance. Support is offered one-on-one and in groups, through workshops and seminars on common concerns such as anxiety, stress management and time management.
Learning support is facilitated by the counsellors and student liaison officers, covering study and learning skills for assessments and examination preparation.
The college also takes part in the Higher Health programme across the university and TVET college sectors, to strengthen the measures that improve general student wellness.
