Ehlanzeni TVET College
Cookie Policy
How cookies are used on this website. In short: this site sets none of its own.
1. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit it. Cookies are commonly used to make a website work, to remember your preferences, to measure how the site is used, or to show advertising.
Similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser, can be used for the same purposes. Where this policy refers to cookies, it includes those technologies.
2. Cookies on this website
Ehlanzeni TVET College does not place any cookies of its own on this website. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
One thing is stored on your device: when you dismiss the cookie notice shown on your first visit, we record that choice in your browser's local storage under the name "etvetc-cookie-notice-dismissed", so the notice does not reappear. It holds no personal information, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Because no tracking cookies are set, there is nothing for you to consent to or withdraw.
3. Third party content
Some pages include content hosted by other organisations. That content can set its own cookies once you interact with it:
- Embedded video on the application page is served by YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookie until you press play. If you play the video, YouTube may set cookies governed by Google's own privacy policy.
- Links to external systems such as the online application portal, the e-Learning platform, the myNSFAS portal and the student survey take you to websites run by other organisations, each with its own cookie policy.
We have no control over cookies set by these third parties. Please read their privacy and cookie policies for details.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you see which cookies are stored, delete them individually or entirely, and block cookies from being set.
Because this website sets no cookies, blocking them will not affect how the site works.
5. Your rights
Where personal information is processed, you have rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), including the right to request access to your personal information, to request correction or deletion, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
How the college processes personal information more generally is set out in the Privacy Statement.
6. Changes to this policy
We may amend this Cookie Policy at any time, for example if we add functionality to the website that does use cookies. The current version is always published on this page.
